Impeccable Sources was my first published novel, in 2007. It details how a young reporter on a national newspaper pursues a story, desperate to meet the demands of an exacting news editor. We see corners being cut, stories being shaped to meet the headline, and all the while the reader knows no more than the reporter, Cassandra Brown. What happened to the Prime Minister's friend who disappeared on holiday? Was it murder, suicide, an acident?
It was widely praised, and some reviews can still be seen on Amazon.
"The plot is a page-turner in itself, yet it is Brewerton's newsroom characters who steal the show." - Amazon.co.uk"A revealing and honest insight into the world of the printed media ... an investigative thriller with a strong, credible plot, told at a good pace and with a lot of fascinating detail."
Impeccable Sources is out of print but secondhand copies can still be found , including via Amazon. I am working on a second Cassandra Brown mystery which I am hoping to publish next year.
